ABOUT US
Since 2004, Progressive Manor has been providing services to the Auburn Gresham community for individuals of all ages who battle with addictions and homelessness. Over the years, we helped over 300 men and women find sobriety through faith-based initiatives. Progressive Manor eventually recognized the need to reach individuals at an earlier age and began developing youth-based programs to combat community-ills. Now, Progressive Manor offers sports mentorship, academic enrichment programs, and programs for seniors in the Auburn Gresham community. We have since outgrown the space we’ve been offered to use at various places around the city and in the local church on 87th Street. In 2020, Progressive Manor purchased the vacant senior services facility with the hopes to put the building to use by using it to expand its services and reach more people. We are now constructing the new Progressive Manor Community & Youth Center to continue our mission of “Impacting the community through transforming lives”.

Youth Engagement
Youth services and programs are available for youth ages 5 to 25. Services for youth include individual counseling sessions, tutoring, and college prep assistance.
Extracurricular activities include our Community Brass Band for youth ages 10 - 18. The Community Brass Band is in partnership with the Hyde Park Youth Symphony Orchestra, which allows approximately 22-32 students to train in performance, technique, sight-reading, theory and music composition! As we complete our new Progressive Manor Community & Youth Center, classes will be FREE of charge and will be held in our soundproof practice rooms twice per week!
Currently, we have sports mentorship available in our Trojan Football Team for boys ages 8 - 14. We have 4 teams made up of over 70 players. As we complete our new Progressive Manor Community & Youth Center, we will expand our programs to include additional sports activities, such as basketball.
Senior Programs
The purpose of the Senior Programs is to provide cognitively enriching and physically engaging activities to keep senior citizens alert and healthy. The new Progressive Manor Community & Youth Center will be a place for seniors to socialize and stay abreast of the world and technology’s latest trends.
Community Services
Progressive Manor currently has a very active Feeding Program that provides groceries to the community three days per week, as well as cooked meals for the homeless on Sundays.
We also have a Sobriety Support program that partners with the local church ministry to enroll men and women into rehabilitation programs to address and combat their drug and alcohol addictions. Graduates of faith-based rehabilitation programs are invited to live in men and women homes owned by Progressive Manor while we assist them in finding employment.
Health and Wellness programs are also offered to the community through fitness activities and health and cooking classes. We intend to positively impact the physical health of the community while we work on other areas of overall community health.
Lastly, as we are completing the new Progressive Manor Community & Youth Center, we will be implementing a new and more robust job readiness program. Currently, we keep our community informed of job opportunities and help close the loop between connections. Once the Community Center is open, we will have the space and financial support to additionally provide adult education programs, including GED classes, job training and job placement, as well as relevant volunteer opportunities that youth and adults can add to their resume while supporting their local community. This is our 3E Program: impacting economics through education and employment.
CENTER FACILITIES
The newly renovated Progressive Manor Community & Youth Center will provide us with more space to serve more of our community. We will be able to expand our feeding programs and offer more youth mentorship, sports, and extracurricular activities, as well as expand our senior programming, and implement a new robust job readiness program. We’ll also have the space to provide more services to the general community of individuals and families. The space will also make it possible to collaborate with other community organizations and provide a safe space for the community to convene in peace and enjoyment.
This means community members will be able to use rooms for their personal and family events such as graduation celebrations, birthdays, and weddings, close to home and at affordable rates, with many free room options and activities.
Additional rooms within the new facility include:
-
Theater Groups/ Production Room
-
